Grand Reopening set for September 24

Almost exactly nine years later, the Hospice Care Reedsville Thrift Store will undergo a major transformation that will be completed in about one week. The Reedsville location opened in the fall of 2003 making it Hospice Care Corporation’s first Thrift Store.  After thousands of visitors and hundreds of popular sales, the store will get some love and care in the form of an extreme makeover to revitalize its appeal and customer shopping experience for the community.

This local thrift store benefits patient care for the terminally ill.  It is conveniently located on Route 7 East near the busy intersection of Routes 7 and 92 in Reedsville, and about two miles away from Hospice Care Corporation’s non-profit headquarters in Arthurdale, WV.

The store will undergo a major face lift or what’s called a ‘reset’ in retail.  For the week of September 17th the store will be closed while this extreme makeover takes place.  It will include interior and exterior building improvements focusing on a complete reorganization, new paint, new stock and all within a short seven days.  In order complete everything in time, the non-profit is asking their customers and supporters to hold all donations until the store reopens on Monday, September 24.  Hospice Care apologizes for the inconvenience but believes this small break from the action will benefit everyone going forward providing a nice atmosphere and much improved shopping experience.

On Monday, September 24th the store will reopen with its Grand Reopening at 9 AM with a new look and a new name, which will be announced next week.  Also, customers can expect community-friendlier hours and new management.  The Reopening event will include refreshments and hourly drawings.

In the meantime, Hospice Care is looking to expand its volunteer workforce to help staff and assist in the new resale store.  Currently there are approximately twelve dedicated and hard working volunteers who staff the store along with the manager.  Duties include: sorting, pricing items, creating displays, running the register and customer service.  There is also a need for volunteers who would be willing to drive and make pick ups of donated furniture and items in the area on a as-need basis.

If you are interested in helping out with the transformation or be a part of the family, please call the store during work hours, Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 4 PM or Saturday from 9 – 12 PM or call anytime at 1-800-350-1161 and ask for Misty.
