Shoot 2 Cure This Weekend!
Help us raise money for cancer research
During the holidays, we are reminded to cherish loved ones who are still living, while remembering those who have passed on.
This Saturday, Huggie Bear Products and Hospice Care Corp. will host a fundraiser to benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund at the WVU Mary Babb Randolph Center and Hospice Care Corp.
Shoot 2 Cure, a candlelight memorial, auction and fundraiser will be from 6-8 p.m., at the Waterfront Hotel Ballroom in Morgantown. According to Deb Huggins Bradford, sister of WVU basketball Coach Bob Huggins and daughter of Norma Mae Huggins, the event is open to anyone looking to honor those who have passed away or memorialize survivors of cancer and other diseases.
This is the first Shoot 2 Cure and Bradford said the idea for the fundraiser came from her determination to raise more money for cancer research.
âI wanted to do something to raise more money for cancer. My mom really liked the holidays and I thought âwhat better way to honor mom and others than to have this memorial event during the holiday season,â â Bradford said.
This quote, from a Dominion Post article, gives a bit more background information about our "Shoot 2 Cure" event, taking place this weekend. The event will have something for everyone, starting with a candlelight memorial to honor loved ones, followed by both silent and live auctions of more than 40 items, including several rare pieces of basketball memorabilia.
